The Perfect Moonlit Proposal

July 30, 2017 - Boating

plate-alloy-boatEvery guy is looking for the perfect, unique proposal, because they know that their future fiancé will be after that sort of thing. They all want a great story to tell all their friends, and maybe also an awesome photo for their Visage-Tome profile. #engaged #blessed !

Yeah, all that. The guys who’ve done it before have all said I should play to my strengths, but I don’t feel like I have any. I’m pretty good at gaming, but Ashley hates all that stuff, and the only other thing I can think of is boat maintenance. Y’know, because I do that for a living. I don’t think Ashley wants me to arrive outside her house with a rowboat hitched to the back of my ute, snapper rack gleaming in the moonlight, ring in hand as I’m perched on the bough. I never thought she was the type to be impressed by stainless steel marine welding, you know? Although…we did go fishing that one time, and we had a good time. Didn’t catch anything, but we just had a good time anyway, so maybe I can propose out in a boat.

Yeah…out in a boat under the moonlight. That’s pretty romantic, right? Although the only problem there is that if she says no, we’re out there in a boat. Nowhere to go…just us and the most awkward situation that either of us will ever encounter. I don’t think she will though, so I’m willing to take that gamble. Actually, it’s not even a gamble. It’ll be fine.

I need a boat though. A nice one too; not some cheap rental. Greg has that one that he keeps going on about; always talking about the plate alloy and how we should go fishing some time. He can’t say no if I tell him what I’m using it for. Mates don’t leave mates in the lurch!

So it’ll be me and Ashley, alone in a flashy plate alloy boat, underneath the moonlight.  I really hope it isn’t cloudy. I should buy some flowers, just in case.
