I must confess, I’ve made a real mess. I couldn’t phone my mum and tell her or she would have gone absolutely crazy. I had to try and fix this one myself. I figured I would be helpful and do some of the dishes for a change. During my good deed I accidentally knocked mum’s wedding ring that she had left on the side down the drain. I pretty much figured that was the end of me so I did consider running away and seeing out the rest of my days on a beach somewhere before she found me. But I decided to try and fix it. I looked up drain repair in Melbourne and got a plumber round that day before she got back. I figured they could just take the drain apart, retrieve the ring, and mum would never need to know! I was so on edge waiting for the plumber. I thought maybe mum would change her plans and come home sooner and I would be done for. After an hour of anxious waiting and pacing and trying with all my might to summon the ring out the drain with my telepathic powers, the plumber arrived! I don’t think they have ever received such a warm reception. I explained the problem and they said while they are more used to dealing with blocked drains in Melbourne they will help me! I tried explaining that while it may seem like I am overreacting my mother is a force to be reckoned with and that ring is extremely precious to her. Luckily after taking the drain apart and clearing some waste products, I saw the light! The ring shone out at me almost begging me to rescue it. With the drain back together and the plumbers gone, I fervently cleaned and polished and tried to remove any lingering scent of drain from the ring.
