I hate to admit this, especially after I was so against getting the bathroom renovated, but it’s actually really cool. When I was imagining the bathroom renovation that my mum was so insistent on getting, I imagined just changing the tiles, sink and getting rid of the bath. I thought all of this was pointless, seeing as it wouldn’t actually make anything better, it would just change things. But this bathroom renovation is so cool that it actually includes laundry renovations as well. We’ve always had a small and average laundry, but I never considered getting it fixed. Now we have a bathroom that also includes a spacious laundry.

I didn’t realise how much of a difference taking out the bath that we never use would make. Because the bathroom renovators took out the bath, we obviously had so much space that they decided to add laundry facilities into the bathroom. I know this may seem weird, especially if you’re thinking about the fact that we now have two laundries, however, we don’t! Our old laundry has now been turned into a little standalone toilet with a basin, so now we have three toilets in our house. 

I guess it’s time to tell my mum that I’m happy that she chose to get bathroom renovations. Melbourne houses are generally a lot newer than ours, but now I feel like our house is up there with some really decent ones. I’m excited to have my friends over for pre-drinks before going out where we can all get ready together in my new bathroom. We’ll all be able to do our makeup at the same time in the mirror. This is something that I didn’t realise I wanted until I got it, but I’m really happy.

I suppose I can live with a fridge in the dining room now that I know how good having a new bathroom is.
