An office to inspire

February 13, 2017 - office design

Melbourne office designOkay so I caught up with my longtime friend Janet the other week at her new offices and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. Before they had the massive renovations done in there, it was a dark, dingy little place where the sun didn’t shine and I would not want to spend my time. In fact, for a while there the working conditions were so poor that poor old Janet was seriously considering leaving. It’s sad when you love a company so much but one element of the way they do things is enough to force you out the door.

Anyway, she didn’t leave, and I bet she’s grateful for that because my oh my her offices look fantastic now. She told me over brunch that about a month ago, the company hired this up-and-coming Melbourne office design company to do a complete refit of the old place, which heaven knows it needed. Apparently the designers were absolutely wonderful, a pleasure to work with in the two weeks or whatever it took them to rearrange the place, which, to be honest, I’d think would be almost as important as their skills as a designer. I myself can never work with people who are rude or slow.

In any case, in addition to being positively charming, this company is apparently completely changing the face of office space design in Melbourne, and walking into those offices, you can really tell. I don’t think I’ve seen such a put-together, inviting, professional looking workplace in my life. As such, I asked Janet to put me in touch with one their people. It never hurts to have people at the forefront of innovation in your contact book, and who knows, maybe I’ll be able to convince my higher-ups that they should do some work for us.
